College of Theology

 

(I) Purpose:  
 
  • Faith:Based on the Christian truth as the core principle of teaching concept.
  • Mission:Preaching the gospel to the whole world and bring people to Christ for the benefit of society crowd.
  • Disciple Training:Strengthen the concept of serving the Lord and the ability to upgrade, train clergy theological education both theoretical and practical faith.
     
(II) Features:  
 
  • Provide a complete curriculum of theological education and offer completely program degrees of Bachelor, Master and Doctor.
  • Emphasize the spiritual cultivation to students, and provide a short or long term oversea preaching project, also focus on the church expansion.
  • Provide a cross-cultural teaching program: Mainly courses are based on Chinese and some part of courses taught in English.
  • APU is a legal authorized institution by the U.S. Immigration department that capable to offer I-20 certification to applicants.
  • All the degrees of certification are recognized by the U.S. Government.
   
(III) Application of Study:
  a. Applicant Requirement:
 

Applicant needs to understand the true meaning of theological study and have the truth of Christian faith. Also is willing to serve the lord and people as his main goal in life. All applicants should submit the applications in writing at first. During the curriculum of studying, the applicant must follow the student regulations and to complete the curriculum of all degrees credit requirements.

After obtaining the relevant program credits, the students can the degree and diploma awarded by the institute.

c. Refunds Regulation:

 

In as much as faculty arrangements and other financial commitments are made by American Purlinton University for the entire academic year in advance, the following refund policy has been adopted in order to distribute the loss equitably when a student finds it necessary to withdraw from the seminary:

Withdrawal within first week 50%
Withdrawal within second week 30%
Withdrawal within third week None

Refunds are computed from the beginning of the quarter, based upon the total tuition which has been paid by the student for the quarter classes in which the student is enrolled. There are no refunds for application or registration fees. No refunds are made for deferred payment fees.

All refunds must be requested by properly completing and submitting a departure card or class drop form. In all cases the official withdrawal date determines the amount of the refund.
     
 

d. Duration of Study:

  (1)Semester:

According to the U.S. Department of Education regulations, a school year is divided into four quarters. The institute offers two teaching methods for student’s convenience .

 

Taught Program or Online Program

Winter: Jan. ~ March.
Summer:Apr. ~ June.
Autumn:July. ~ Sep.
Winter:Oct. ~Dec.

     
  (2)Program Quarters Requirement:
 
  • Bachelor:2 years
  • Master:1 year
  • Doctor:2 years
     
  (3)Graduation Requirements:
 

The institute uses credit unit systems and there is no time limitation for each program. Also, the institute has arranged dates for examinations. Achieving passing grades on examinations are basis for completion of each credit unit. Successful completion of required credit units will earn a certificate of credit and a diploma. But as to the master and Ph.D. programs, it should be required to submit the academic thesis and approved by the institute.
